What you may do with our work
Everything here - text, photography, the data compilations behind the tools - is protected by copyright. You may quote a short excerpt with attribution and a link. Republishing whole articles, or scraping the guides and the index data to rebuild them elsewhere, requires written permission and we do give it; ask at editors@explworld.com.
Accuracy, and its limits
Travel information goes out of date faster than any editorial process can follow. Visa rules change overnight. Prices move with the season. A border closes and nobody announces it.
Everything on this site is editorial guidance, not legal, medical or financial advice. Verify entry requirements with the destination's own authorities and your foreign ministry before you travel - our visa data is a starting point for that conversation, never the end of it. Decisions you make on the basis of this site are yours, and ExplWorld is not liable for their outcome.
Your account
An account is free, and it stays free. It exists so you can watch countries, keep a map, and save things you want to find again.
You are responsible for your password. Tell us if you think someone else has it.
We may suspend or close an account that is used to scrape the site, to abuse other people, or to misrepresent itself. We will say why.
You can leave whenever you like. Deleting your account in Account settings removes it, and gives you a copy of what we held on you on the way out. Nothing is kept afterwards except what we are legally required to keep.
We do not promise an account will always work, and we may change what it does.
Commercial placements
Listings marked ExplWorld Verified are paid placements that passed our verification. Sponsored stories are labelled as sponsored. Affiliate links are marked and may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.
None of that buys a position. Commercial relationships never influence a score, a ranking, an ordering or a recommendation anywhere on this site. If you ever find evidence otherwise, we want to hear about it more than you want to tell us. Buying a travel eSIM
A travel eSIM bought here is digital content. It is issued the moment your payment clears and delivered by email and on your order page, where the QR code and the install steps live.
By paying you ask us to deliver it immediately, and you accept that an issued eSIM cannot be returned or refunded. If you are a consumer in the EU, this is the point at which the right of withdrawal ends: delivery of digital content begins at your express request, and you acknowledge that you lose the right once it has.
Prices are shown in euro with a US-dollar figure for comparison and are charged in euro. Packages, coverage and prices come from our supply partner's catalogue and change without notice; the price you pay is the one shown at checkout. Coverage means the networks the package names, not a promise of signal in every place.
If an eSIM fails to install at all, write to us with the order reference and we make it right. A package that has been installed, or whose validity has started, cannot be exchanged.
Buying a country ebook
A country ebook bought here is digital content: a PDF file. It is delivered the moment your payment clears, as a download on the confirmation page and as a link in an email to the address you paid with.
By paying you ask us to deliver it immediately, and you accept that a delivered ebook cannot be returned or refunded. If you are a consumer in the EU, this is the point at which the right of withdrawal ends: delivery of digital content begins at your express request, and you acknowledge that you lose the right once it has.
The price is shown in euro with a US-dollar figure for comparison and is charged in euro. The ebooks are included with an active MAX membership; a copy you downloaded while MAX was active stays yours after it ends.
The link in the email does not expire. Each download it starts is valid for a few minutes, so a forwarded link is not a public copy of the file. If you lose the email, write to us from the address you paid with and we will send it again.
The book is for your own use. You may keep it, print it and read it on any of your devices; you may not resell it, publish it or share the file publicly. If the file will not open, or is not the book described on the page you bought it from, write to us and we make it right.
Booking an airport service
An airport service - a lounge, a fast-track lane, a meet-and-greet, a VIP arrival - is booked here for a named airport, terminal, date and time. We sell the booking. The service itself is provided at the airport by its operator, on their premises and under their rules, and what is included is what the listing says is included.
You pay in full when you book, and the booking is placed with the provider straight after. Prices are shown in euro with a US-dollar figure for comparison and are charged in euro. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
If the provider cannot take the booking - no capacity left, the service withdrawn, the slot unavailable - then nothing goes ahead and we refund you in full, automatically, to the card you paid with. You do not have to ask us for it.
Otherwise a confirmed booking is not cancelled, not changed and not refunded. A service arranged for a specific date and time carries no right of withdrawal under EU consumer law, and this is one of those: the slot is held for you at an hour nobody else can use. That covers not arriving, arriving after the time you booked, and being unable to use the service because your own flight moved. If your flight does move, write to us and we will ask the provider what is possible - we cannot promise a change.
The provider requires the details we ask for at checkout: the name, phone number and email of the person booking, the full names of everyone else travelling, and the flight number. They exist to make the booking and to identify you at the airport. We refuse a booking we cannot place rather than taking money for one.
Your reference and your voucher are in the confirmation email and on your order page, and the voucher is what the desk at the airport reads. Times, terminals and meeting points come from the provider and can change; we pass on what they tell us.
MAX membership
MAX is billed for the whole period up front and is not refunded. It renews at the end of each period unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time; MAX stays active until the end of the period you paid for and stops there.
Nothing you saved is deleted when MAX ends. Watched countries, saved stories and your map stay on the account; only the members-only features stop.
Third-party sites
Links leave here and land somewhere we do not control. Their terms and their privacy practices are theirs, and we take no responsibility for what happens after the click.
What you send us
Submitting an enquiry or a pitch means you have the right to send what you sent. You keep ownership of it. We use it only to answer you or, for commissioned work, on the terms agreed in writing at the time.
Availability
We do not promise the site is always up, always complete or always current. Features may change or disappear.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. Disputes go to the courts of the Slovak Republic. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the rest still stands.
If you are in the EU and you are using this site as a consumer, this does not take away rights your own country's law gives you.
Changes
We change these terms from time to time. The version and the date it took effect are at the top of this page.
If a change is significant, we will say so before it applies, and if you have an account we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept it.
